Who we are

Kitsap Component is a store operated by Maxwell Industries LLC, a Washington limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit kitsapcomponent.com or place an order, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information you give us when you order. To process and ship an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and the details of what you bought. We keep a record of your order history with us.

Payment information. We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. When you check out, you enter your card information directly with Stripe under its own privacy policy and PCI compliant systems. We receive only limited confirmation details, such as that a payment succeeded, the amount, and a partial card reference.

Email delivery. We send order confirmations, shipping updates, and replies to your questions using Resend, our transactional email provider. Your email address and the contents of those messages pass through Resend so the message can be delivered.

Website usage information. When you visit the site, standard technical information may be collected automatically, such as your browser type, device type, the pages you view, and your approximate location based on your IP address. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• process, fulfill, and ship your orders
• send order confirmations, shipping notices, and service messages
• respond to your questions and provide support
• keep records required for accounting, taxes, warranty claims, and fraud prevention
• maintain the security of the site and detect or prevent fraudulent activity
• comply with our legal obligations

We do not send marketing email unless you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with the service providers who help us run the store, and only as needed for them to do that work. Those providers currently include Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), our hosting and infrastructure providers, and our shipping carriers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site and checkout to function. Our checkout is hosted by Stripe, which uses its own cookies to process payments and prevent fraud. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though turning off necessary cookies may break parts of the site or checkout. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because there is no common industry standard for them.

How long we keep your information

We keep order and customer information for as long as needed to fulfill the purpose it was collected for, and after that for as long as we are required to keep it for tax, accounting, warranty, and legal reasons. When we no longer need information, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

How we protect your information

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. Payment card data is handled by Stripe and never stored on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information. As a baseline, and regardless of your state, we will honor reasonable requests to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy of it, correct inaccurate information, delete your information (subject to records we are legally required to keep), and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email help@kitsapcomponent.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act, usually by confirming details of an order you placed.

Children

Our store is intended for businesses and adult customers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
